Come and row as rigger-ously as you can on our ergs over 150m or 500m! Everyone is welcome to give the challenge a go, with prizes to be won.

Newnham College Boat Club is the largest and most successful of the Cambridge University College Women’s Boat Clubs, dominating women’s rowing on the Cam since 1893. Since then, the club has been a crucial part of college life, welcoming everyone who wishes to join with open arms.

At the Festival, Newnham College Boat Club is putting on an Oar-some Rowing Challenge in the dedicated Boat Club Pagoda. Come and row as rigger-ously as you can on our ergs over 150/500m! Everyone is welcome to give the challenge a go, and prizes will be awarded to the fastest rower in each age category! Please consider wearing something suitable to row or bring a spare change of bottoms. Please note that rowing is a very strenuous form of exercise and if you have any concerns about whether it is an appropriate form of exercise for you, we advise that you should not take part today.

We would also love to hear about your experiences rowing on the Cam with NCBC and the university. So come along and say hello to celebrate NCBC and Newnham’s 150th Anniversary.

NCBC has also collected 150 memories from past and present members, a student-led project which has gathered memories and reflections from members of NCBC over the generations. Please enjoy reading this collection of memories to celebrate NCBC and the 150th Anniversary of Newnham College.
