Improving Student Mental Health – series of talks with Dr Jane Morris

Dr Jane Morris will be joining us for a series of three talks, with interactive discussion elements.

These talks will take place in the Anna Bateson room of Newnham College, with a virtual option also available for attendees:

Wednesday 20 Oct – 7.30pm – Transition to University Life – and the particular challenges for people vulnerable to mental ill health

Thursday 21 Oct – 7.30pm – Social media, self image and mental wellbeing.

Friday 22 Oct – 3pm – Drugs: recreational and prescribed.

Dr Jane Morris (NC 1971) is a consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist specialising in the mental health of adolescents and young adults and is currently Lead Clinician for the North of Scotland Managed Clinical Network for Eating Disorders and Chair of SIGN Guideline on Eating Disorders. She came to Newnham College to study English and after graduation went on to pursue a career in medicine. She is particularly interested in the health, education and development of children and young people and is currently writing a book for Cambridge University Press Improving Student Mental Health.

She was recently interviewed for College on ‘Reimagining student health’ here, for a flavour of her research interests.
